About Us...
Our department was founded in 1930 as a consolidation of 3 fire companies in the area. We had 4 engines and 1 rescue company after we formed the new department. The City of Hypoluxo Palms experienced a boom in the late 70's after the new port was built. Within a year the new area grew which required the opening of 3 stations. In 2004 the department was named a Class 2 fire department by the Insurance Services Office. We currently operate many apparatus out of 6 stations, have over 270 dedicated staff members and 50 volunteers and we serve a population of 98,168 and an area of 38 square miles. HPFR responded to 44,920 calls in 2014.
